3 paragraphs

1) Night john

       Night john is a book about a slave named Night John who ran away to the north and then came back to the south. When slaves ran away they would send dogs after them. A man on the plantation Night john was going to ran away his name was Jim. He heard the dogs coming and climbed a tree, but he didnt climb high enough and the dogs bit him to shreads and he died. The master never took him down off the tree, this could also be known as lynching. There was a girl named Sarny living on the plantation and she meet Night John and had a deal with him. He would teach her how to read and she would have to give him tobacco. Now, Sarny knew the punishment if her masters caught her reading and writing, but she wanted to learn anyway. one night Night John was teaching Sarny and her mother caught them. She wasnt happy about it because of the punsihments of being caught, but Night John told her he ran away to the north and came back to teach slaves how to read and write. He also said "They have to read and write, we all have to read and write so we can write about this- what there doing to us. It has to be written."

2) Mascot

      Mascot is about Malcom X's life. Malcom got kicked out of school for putting a tack in his teachers chair and he had to go to a  reform school but before that he had to live in a detetion home. There he lived with the swerlins. The swerlins liked him so they delayed the date for when malcom had to go to reform school. The Swerlins never really thought of malcom as a human being more of a pet. Malcom said "Although i was with them they never really saw me." He went to school there and was a basketball player. He was really popular and was even class presdient. He also wanted to be a lawyer. When his sister Ella came down to visit him she told him about Boston and how he should go there. He did and he loved it, becasue the blacks were treated differently. When he went back home he wasnt happy anymore and one day him and his teacher was alone in his classroom. The teacher asked him what he wanted to be and he told him a lawyer. The teacher was like be realstic. That conversation changed Malcom forever.

3) Compare & Contrast

     The great debators, Night John and Mascot are alike and different in many ways. There are alike becasue, in Night John there was a slave who climbed a tree and dogs killed him on the tree and the master never took him down so it was like a lynching. In Great Debators they saw a lyncing and the black man was left in the tree. Also, Night John ran to the North and came back to teach people how to read. In great debators Tolson would run to a sercet meeting to get tenement farmers to come together. These two things are alike becasue it is helping people out for the better. The simlitarty between Mascot and Great Debators is Malcom wanted to be a lawyer and so did Samatha. The difference is Malcom never became a lawyer and she did. Also, Malcom went to boston to visit his sister Ella, and in Great Debators the final debate against havard was held in Boston. Now, the difference between Night John and Great Debators is Night John was about slavery. It had more to do with slavery and slaves running away and teaching Sarny how to read and write. The difference between Mascot and Great Debators is that Mascot is about the life of Malcom X and what his childhood and teenage years were like; Great Debators is more talking about a Black debating team and how they beat out the best debating colleges. The two books, Night John and Mascot are alike and different to Great Debators in many ways.

so this week we have been reading things about civil rights and slavary and now we are watching the great debaters it is rele a good movie but we are supposed to compare the book we are reading malcom x and nightjohn to the movie...now to be honest i dont see that much of a comparison...yea racism unequlty but rele what else is there? now i mean i havent finished the movie but i guess i have to look harder..i just dont think that i will be able to come up with a list of things....this is a reson why i dont like english....but anyway the book nightjohn is rele deep like some parts i didnt even want to read like the whole whipping part and stuff that was too much..like i love history but i just wasnt expecting it i guess u can say??  but um i cant wait to finish the movie...this is the end for this weeks blog...see u next week <3

okaii so today is sunday all week we have been watching the movie of 12 angry men it was good just like the book so that was nice...the characters were funni at parts...we also went to see the to kill a mocking bird...it was amazing!!! lol i loved the whole thing i rele didnt no how they would have the different scences and stuff but it was great i would watch it again if i had too....but i also like it becasue the actors/actresses were rele good too...so in class we rele didnt do nothin new so i rele dont have much to write about which sucks....oh yea we took a test tht wasnt tht hard i mean i had some problems on some quetsions but it wasnt that bad....i hope i do good tho lol. this weekend has been fun too i mean i chilled and watch football and had a sleepova wit my bff so this weekend was succesful thats all i have to wirte so see u next week :)

okaii so today we went finsihed the book tewvle anger men and it wasnt that bad i was juror 11 and i liked my person i just felt like he/she didnt have enough parts which sucked but whatevr lolin class we have been reading a lot so i relle dont have much to say cuz its just books and nothing is VERY exicting about that. so lets talk about my teacher for english....he is cool i guess...but i feel like he is getting annoyed with some of the people in our class...like he doesnt directly say it but you can tell. i mean to be honest people are annoyn in there but as long as i get a good grade i could care less....i just hope tht he isnt the type of teacher who gets meaner over the school year cuz i dont like tht :). okaii so this weekend the brown won against New england...and i was SOOOO HAPPY like forreal the browns winning against them they did sooo good i was proud lol but yea they have one player i rele like and tht is hillis!! he is a BEAST like forreal i think i need to get a jersey..cuz thts how good he is....if the browns keep playing like this then they will be a good team for this year and next year sooo yes they put me in a happy mood for about 2 days...oooh and also it was earli realse and tht also made me happy cuz i cant stand some of these ppl in school lol jpjp but i just needed to get out earli cuz i didnt get a lot of sleep this weekend...soooo im bout to go to sleep now....thats it for these week
